Chief Carriers Announces New Equipment Purchases

International Pro Start Tractors

Chief Carriers, Inc., a subsidiary of Chief Industries, Inc., in October and November 2011 took delivery of 10 International Pro Star tractors equipped with electronic auxiliary power units. This was in addition to 5 Peterbilt 386 tractors and 5 International Pro Star tractors in March of 2011. Some new tractor features include increased cab space, fuel-efficient engines, and enhanced visibility. These new tractors blend well with the rest of the Chief Carriers fleet which includes Freightliner Classics, Peterbilt 379 models and Peterbilt 386 models.

An additional twenty, light weight, all aluminum Reitnouer trailers are scheduled to arrive in January 2012. This was in addition to 20 Reitnouer trailers delivered June, 2011. These purchases follow our plan to replace all of the heavier steel- aluminum combination trailers with light weight all aluminum trailers. Reitnouer introduced the first totally bolted, aluminum flatbed trailer in the industry.
